To mark today’s relaunch, we turned our lens to Brixton and together with photographer Joe Hart, we visited Maureen’s Brixton Kitchen. Maureen Tyne has served smoky jerk chicken, curry goat, and other island staples straight from her backyard for over two decades: an enduring symbol of Brixton’s rich Caribbean food culture.
The spirit of that space comes alive in our accompanying video, set to “Get Loose”, the debut single from Up Ya Archives. Produced by Bristol’s rising talent Cheetah in collaboration with Nia Archives, the track fuses breakbeat jungle with soca flair. There’s no build-up, it’s raw energy.
