Founded by James Jannard in California in 1975, Oakley began as a garage-run upstart in the BMX industry, selling accessories distinguished by highly innovative manufacturing techniques and materials. The brand’s uncompromising, industrially-innovative approach to performance accessories soon led it into the world of ski goggles and sport sunglasses where it revolutionized the performance and aesthetic standards of an entire industry with its avant-garde designs. Today the brand remains the undisputed market leader of design-driven sports performance, appreciated across entirely heterogeneous demographics, from kids of the streets of Paris to leading triathletes and Tour de France winners.
