Umbro

For Autumn/Winter 2026, Slam Jam and Umbro launch a collection inspired by folk and “cottagecore” sensibilities, exploring the uncommon space between football and domestic life, the proper threshold between everyday life and the pitch. Drawing on the visual language of old-school British houses and its interiors, the work reflects on the home as a space of preparation, anticipation, and recovery. The collection develops across two distinct but connected layers. The first explores the personal and domestic side of football culture, expressed through old wallpaper prints, traditional knitwear patterns, pearl buttons, velvet tracksuits, foulards featuring “masked” eyes, caps, wool hats, and a fanny pack. In addition, the knitwear pieces further play with the visual language of football memorabilia and domestic craft. The second layer introduces a more controlled and polished attitude, drawing on ideas of authority, regulation, and concealment through elements such as “censored kits” and masked details. Together, these two sides create a tension between the intimate and the controlled, the familiar and the institutional, bringing the domestic world of old-school British interiors into dialogue with the codes of football and its surrounding culture.
