Football is everywhere. With Maradonne, a Milan-based women’s football team, adidas follows the game into its life beyond the pitch.
Founded in Milan in 2020, Maradonne is a seven-a-side football team built around a radically playful approach. Their football is less about performance and more about presence. It’s about the game itself, and what comes with it: friendship, banter, confidence, ritual. They train once a week around Milan’s Navigli, and their name is a clever play on Maradona, folded into donne, the Italian plural for “women.” That’s how one of football’s most iconic figures is split open into a plural, female force.
Our lens follows it through stools and tables at a local pub, where their adidas attire feels spot on. The brand is revisiting its own visual memory through archival silhouettes, team references, and Trefoil branding, updating football codes for today’s feel.
It’s a uniform that can be made personal. A shirt can stand for a country, a club, a wish, or simply a way of moving through the city. The way you carry it makes all the difference. With this team’s attitude, one gets to see up close what it’s all about. The match can wait. The game is already here, and the clothes are too. Available now at all Slam Jam doors.
