Hoka was born in 2009 on the steep trails of the French Alps, with a maximalist silhouette that was counter to the minimalist trend of the time. It wants people to fly, and they do so on outdoorsy weekends to this day. One can now see them take flight on city streets too, as running has become a major passion for all desk-slaves worldwide.
There is, however, a subsection of users who are not being talked about enough. It’s the people who do wear Hoka, but are not really setting themselves up for a few hours of exercise. They are simply equipping themselves to go through the day unscathed: jumping out of cars and into a different kind of traffic, café-hopping hoping for inspiration to strike, walking out of the office and into a 10-minutes memo from a friend on lunch break.
The classic Hoka sole got reinvented to serve those who always wander. Enter Speedgoat 2, Mafate Speed 2, and Bondi 7. Black, white, grey, refractive colorways.
We got behind the camera and followed the day of three different people, with different paths ahead and Hoka at their feet. Their day went on just great, no ankles were broken. Shop Hoka at Slam Jam, make sure you keep on flying.
