Kapital was founded by father and son Toshiyoko and Kiro Hirata in 1996 in Kojima, Kurashiki, the so-called “capital” of Japanese denim. Combining an incredible knowledge of vintage American manufacturing and ancient Japanese iconic techniques , such as Sashiko and Boro, Kapital is an incomparable hub of meticulous know-how artisanal. The sub-label Kapital Kountry focuses on the production of pre-distressed products, by returning items with strong and unique personality.
